Biography
My Journalism Certificate from the University of Massachusetts will be complete in 2012.

My professional writing associations include the Christian Writer’s Guild and the Chicago Writer’s Association.

Should you choose to work with me you will find me conscientious, diligent, and easy to work with. But don’t just take my word for it. Here is what some of my editors have to say about me:

“Debbie Simler-Goff connects with our readers and always offers them an ‘aha’ moment in the least likely and most joyfully unexpected places.” –Kent Curry, Editor, www.ninetyandnine.com

"Debbie Simler-Goff has written extensively for the IBC Perspectives magazine for several years. Her writing style and professionalism are superb! I would recommend her highly for any word-smith project."-Tim Massengale,Editor in Chief, IBC Perspectives Magazine, Indiana Bible College
BASIC BIO
Debbie Simler-Goff is a freelance writer in the Chicago area. She is a member of the Chicago Writer’s Association, and will complete her Journalism Certificate from the University of Massachusetts this year.

BIO FOR RELIGIOUS PUBLICATIONS
Debbie Simler-Goff loves Jesus and her husband, Buddy. When she’s not fulfilling her duties as a minister’s wife, she can be found playing dress up with her eleven grandchildren.

BIO FOR NEWS PUBLICATIONS
Debbie Simler-Goff doesn’t just report the news; she builds relationships with the people whose story she is telling. Her unique ability to draw out the heart of the matter has drawn compliments even from her would be critics.

My first article as a Christian journalist was “Instant Motherhood: How a Twenty-Year-Old Survived” and was published in 1999 by a then obscure e-zine called Ninety and Nine.

Since then, my articles have appeared in both secular and religious publications, and I have completed three work-for-hire devotional book projects as a female Christian author with The Livingstone Corporation.

I was a staff writer for the IBC Perspectives and wrote a “Someone You Should Know” column for the Elmhurst Patch. (I continue to cover news stories for the Elmhurst Patch.) I also have experience as a woman Christian speaker.

My ongoing relationships include the Illinois District News, Faith In The Workplace, and The Higher Calling.
